Scientific Name: Metriaclima sp. 'kingsizei lupingu' Common Name: N/A Size: 9-10cm. Location: Likoma and Maingano Island, Lake Malawi Care: Like most mbuna, kingsizei need plenty of rockwork and hiding spots. Its best to keep only a few males to a tank as they will fight for territory. Males seem to be fairly tolerant of females and dont display much aggression towards them, unlike most mbuna. Kingsizei are omnivorous and are best fed a mix of dry, frozen and live foods. Both sexes display a bright yellow base throughout their body with males showing an ice blue on their dorsal and black highlights on the ventral fins. Males colours are usually more intense, especially during breeding. Breeding: Kingsizie are maternal mouthbrooders. They seem to be more challenging to breed than most other mbuna. Females will hold around 15-20 eggs per spawn and will hold for approximately 25 days. Fry are best raised on crushed pellets and baby brine shrimp. These are not to be confused with the 'blue' Metriaclima kingsizei now known as Metriaclima pulpican
