Hello guys, Yesterday I moved a holding saulosi female (3.5cm-4cm) into my holding tank and she spat this arvo! ;D I have noticed that sometimes when fry venture out from underneath the slate, she would chase them so that they dart into hiding again. Does she do this as an instinct to keep her fry safe and protect them? She doesn't seem to be trying to eat them... All replies are welcome, Cheers, Tim

i have watched electric yellows do this and what she is more then likely trying to do it to pick her fry back up and keep them in her mouth. it is quiet common in large haps but mbuna do it also. but eventually she will forget they are her fry and try to eat them

I would move her straight away. I have a placidachromis tanzania that spits her fry and with in half' n hour she eats them. Needless to say she gets stripped now.
