I have this female kuhli loach who grew a big lump on the right side of her body and then it burst out of her skin to reveal a bunch of eggs popping out. They're just sticking out of her body now but some are falling off as she swims. Habits and feeding remain unchanged. Surely this is not a common occurence. What has happened here?

Ive seen this happen before with danios where they produce more eggs then their body can stretch. sorry i never found a solution and only ended badly. it almost seemed to be like being egg bound. sorry for the lack of a fix with the problem.

Well isn't that weird... And no Craig, she's the only loach in the tank.

Update: the eggs all fell out, and the wound is healing. Feeding & activity unchanged....
