What substrate to use depends on what fish you are stocking the tank with. What is going in that tank?

Yes coral sand will help keep your water hard and ph high which is how africans like it. Aparently argonite sand does it also.

Ring around some landscape supply places. Unfortunately the place i bought mine from is gone now. Otherwise you may be able to get some second hand from a fish forum.

Hi Paul,
I have clean coral sand, I used it in my frontosa tanks but changed over to a fine black gravel. The coral sand does not contain any nasty cone snails.
How much are you after?
20kg for $30.
Cheers Harry
