Hi guys!
I just picked u a 3x2x2 tank that was running as a saltwater tank that I am wanting to convert to a Mbuna setup! The tank has 1 hole drilled in the top left hand corner for the "overflow" for the sump.
The sump is a marine sump and has a refugium, can anyone please help me to make the sump into something suitable for the african setup? I am wondering if I should drills second hole in the top right hand side of the tank for the return from the sump rather that having the flexi pipe over the back of the tank as I really do t like the look of it!
Any help and ideasis much appreciated!!
Thanks guys

well u can closed off the hole and use a Canister Filters but a 3x2x2 is a little small for a mbuna tank they will not have to much room to run if getting picked on u can use it for a tang tank for some Julidochromis or Lamprologines but that's up to u yanke

I agree, the minimum I would keep mbuna in is 4ft due to aggression levels and territory size.

Ok I have scraped the idea of mbunas, and have anther issue.... My pump for the sump is not going at all now...
I currently have a 3x2x2 running off a sump in my bed room and it is quite loud and the pump that is running the sump (aquaone 105 maxi) is very very loud and somewhat in reliable and only works when it wants too, I have no fish in the tank yet.
I got the tank for free which has one hole drilled in the top left hand corner on the back panel of glass that is being used for the overflow for the sump.
I am thinking to replace the sump pump with something around the 5000lph mark meaning I will have to drill another hole for the over flow....... I think?
I have been looking into this for sometime now and have came up with a single 25mm outlet is only enough for 2271 lph pump?
If I upgrade my pump to a 5000lph pump and I drill another 25mm hole for dual overflows and them drill another single 25mm hole on the other side for the return is this going to be ample?
With the 2x 25mm holes for overflows does this mean the pump in the sump returning the water to the tank needs to pump at least 4542lph? If this is the case will I need bigger than a single 25mm hole for my return?
I am so so so very confused, any help is greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

Why go for such a big pump the tank is only 300L if your pumping 5000lph at that headhight then your turning over the water 16 times an hour which is way to much what sort of fish are you putting in there now?
