About the BN sucking on the slime coat on discus, or any pleco for that matter, thats a contentious issue. From my experience, the larger plecs seem to grow to a certain size, and then they do develop a taste for discus slime. But with all the smaller plecos i have had, as long as you keep them well fed, they have no interest in the discus. I know one breeder who introduces his new plecos/BN into a breeding pairs tank. Being as volatile and aggressive as they are then, the plec soon learns to stay away from the discus. He then introduces them into the main tank

Yeh been thinking about adding some borleyi. im more focusing on the fossorochromis and whitelips at the moment and borleyi are pretty aggressive when they start breeding so I might hold off a while yet.
