Only been in the tank half an hour and a bit stressed out, couple more that didnt fare as well so will need to be treated and rehabilitated before piccies. Shot under natural light with flash.

The other 3 are very emaciated, she has been away alot, fin rot etc etc. a white with melon coloured belly sort of www.dinkos.com.au/Small+red+melon+discus+fish-1165869.htm similar to link and the other 2 are german bred from wild fish Heckled but brown bodied www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/book_review_Blehers_Discus_V1.php like this one. These 2 are in a really bad way missing most of their fins, one is black and did i mention enaciated. Still eating like little pigs. The 2 in the piccy have started cleaning a pot and head to tailing, fin flashing. I have bumped the temps to 32, added salt for the fin rot, will make up some beef heart mix with flagyl tuesday and cross my fingers the sick fellows make it through. They are alert feeding and swiming around so i have high hopes.

I'm wanting to clean up the fin rot first. They will need to be treated soon for parasites worms as I have a feeling their emancipated state is probably due to worms.
Are the piccies of royal blues firthy? That was the best I could ident them as.

Dean we used to use a lot of salt when we got them in and getting the tds up to about 2000. you would see the fish flushing the salt through their gills as the salt was dissolving on the bottom of the tank. it goes without saying we raised the tds over a few days. ps ive got a tds meter sitting at home if you need one

The browns seem to have purked up a bit overnight. I hit them with MG and formaldahide late last night and the rapid laboured breathing has slowed alot, they have colour back and are even more hungry at morning feed. I am thinking these fish may have multiple parasite issues so hopefully i have sorted the gills and externals for now, i will be continuing external meds for the next 3 days and then onto flagelites and worms. The joys of fish keeping ay.
