Hi all, Just joined this forum after I purchased some new tank mates from a current forum member ( superman ) and he suggested that I should have a look and join up. Thanks again for the fish!! They have settled in great with the current tank inhabitants ;D I have had fish for a long time but only recently started to really get into this hobby. I currently have a 2ft & 3ft tank, the 2ft currently has tetras and barbs & the 3ft has 2 different catfish, 2 plecs and now a small variety of cichlids which are a new kind of fish for me and very exciting My friends think I'm a bit strange as my girlfriend and I also have a breeding pair of pygmy bearded dragons but they are awesome and have such personality. I probably wont post much but mostly search the forum and use it for information or to buy more fish Haha

Thanks timandson. I'm always looking at new ways to make the tank look nicer Yeah I only got them on Friday (such miserable weather, what better reason to buy fish?) If I remember correctly I now have a few Crimson tide, Saulosi, White tail Acei, Rustys, Electric yellow and electric blues. If Superman can remember he could confirm what I have haha = I think he did me a very good deal, very happy

I've already got two aquarium tanks and a terrarium so that will hopefully hold me for a little while longer.. Hopefully Would my tank benifit from an extra filter? Like an external canister filter? It has a internal canister filter but I'm thinking It could benifit from an extra form of filtration?

i strongly beleave that you cant over filtrate, i think you best of over doing it then under doing it, i have 2 2200 ltr canisters running my 6x2x2 with heaps of aricans in there, and it all works just fine,,
but the main thing is to consider the most, is that the more fish you have in the tank, the more filtration you will need,,
but i find an external canister works the best,

Okay thanks. I went to cross roads reptile shop today and whilst buying crickets for my bearded dragons I spoted and bought an Aqua One Nautilus 800 external canister filter Set it up and it's running with my other internal filter at the moment, seems like a good unit, only time will tell I suppose I've also started to cut pvc pipe and add to the tank so the fish have some hides and things to swim through
