Scientific Name: Pseudotropheus saulosi Common Name: Saulosi Size: Maximum 4 inches Location: Taiwan Reef, Lake Malawi, African Rift Valley. Care: Should be fed suitable high quality African cichlid foods (eg. NLS.) Saulosi will graze on algae on glass, rocks ect. Recomended minimum tank size is 55 gallons, they should have plenty of swimming space and hidey-holes. Like most mbuna, they are best kept with 1 male per 3-4 females. Male saulosi are quite aggressive during breeding period and will hassle other fish. They should be kept with similarly sized and temperamental malawis. Breeding: Maternal mouth-brooder Notes: Male and female saulosi both are bright yellow when juvenile and males will go deep blue with vertical black stripes when sexually mature.
