Hi guys,
I've been targeting bream on poppers a bit in a river that links up to the manning (saltwater part) and I haven't been able to catch anything. Do any of you guys ever throw a few small poppers around for bream? if so, have you got any tips for me?
Thanks,
Tim

Fish shallow, 30-40cms of water only over the beds, look for broken patches with sand.
Once you find the fish concentrate most of your fishing into the same depth of water.
Seems to only work dawn till 9am or right on dusk.
Use something like a bubble pop I have found the 35 work best for me in the lake. Natural coloureds olive brown black silver two toned being the favourite.
Give 2 or 3 short lunges with the rod tip do not wind line. like a prawn in fright, then a decided pause, 3-10 seconds is a good starter. Take up just your slack, and Repeat.
Some beds are sure fire producers others not so much. You are trying to simulate a fleeting prawn so match the hatch and make your popper work like the real thing.
Let me know how you go. Piccies when you hookup.
