i've had them spawn but i wasn't really trying to, generally an easier fish to breed although may eat their eggs/fry the first few times. if you want to breed them you generally buy a group and wait for them to pair off as they are no obvious sexual demorphisms apart from the breeding tubes, which can be tricky to tell apart
